CHARACTERIZATION:
Sanox 1425 is a high molecular weight stabilizer, (trans)-esterification catalyst and property modifier all in one. It is odorless, light stable with excellent color retention. It is highly compatible with polyesters and very resistant to extraction. Suitable for food grade PET applications favorably modifying the properties of PET with respect to color, acetaldehyde (AA) and cyclic oligomer content. Sanox 1425 is also an efficient catalyst and stabilizer for rosin esters and it is an extraction resistant antioxidant for rubber applications, especially based on NBR and ECO.

APPLICATIONS:
Sanox 1425 is a multifunctional additive designed for the manufacture of polyester resins (fiber, bottle, film, sheet, strapping, industrial yarns, etc.), melt processing of polyesters (fiber spinning, extrusion, injection molding, etc.), synthesis of rosin esters and the stabilization of adhesives, tackifiers and rubber vulcanisates.

FEATURES/BENEFITS:
Sanox 1425 accelerates significantly molecular weight build-up of polyesters during solid-state polycondensation (SSP) and reactive extrusion with chain extenders. It effectively protects polyesters against thermo-oxidative degradation lowering the AA formation, reducing cyclic oligomer content while providing excellent color retention. The use of Sanox 1425 provides a desired color blue shift. High extraction resistance and low volatility make it suitable for the most demanding food packaging applications.
As an esterification catalyst e.g. for rosin esters, Sanox 1425 offers accelerated reaction times and produces a resin with reduced color and low acid number. In addition, it imparts a “carry through” antioxidant effect by offering improved heat stability of the final resin. In rubber applications, Sanox 1425 is an effective antioxidant, resistant to extraction by many liquids, e.g. sour gasoline. It is especially suitable for rubber articles based on NBR and ECO.

0.01 - 0.10 % Stabilization and property modification
0.10 - 0.20 % SSP acceleration
Sanox 1425 can be used alone or in combinations with chain extenders.
